Eberhard Heinrich Zeidler Named Professional of the Year in Architecture by Cambridge Who's Who

Eberhard Zeidler has left an indelible mark on buildings all over the world

TORONTO, ON, CANADA, June 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eberhard Heinrich Zeidler, Senior Partner Emeritus of Zeidler Partnership Architects, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Architecture. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

A winner of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada's Gold Medal, Dr. Zeidler has enjoyed a varied, highly successful career as an architect. He spent most of the last six decades at the helm of his own architecture firm, lending his design expertise to a variety of projects around the world. Dr. Zeidler has left an indelible mark on such structures as the Eaton Centre in Toronto, Canada Place in Vancouver, BNI City in Jakarta, and The Kravis Performing Art Centre in Florida. Prior to his retirement, he was involved with Trump International Hotel and Tower, The Minto Midtown Development, and EMAAR Dubai Development.

Dr. Zeidler also found success as an educator and author. From 1984 to 2000, he taught as an adjunct professor of architectural design at the University of Toronto. He has written two books, "Healing the Hospital" and "Multi-Use Architecture in the Urban Context," and was the subject of two: "Eberhard Zeidler: In Search of Human Space," published by Ernst & Sohn, and "Zeidler Roberts Partnership: Ethics and Architecture," published by L'Arca Edizioni. He has also been featured in more than 400 articles in leading magazines.

Educated in Germany, Dr. Zeidler graduated summa cum laude in 1949 from the University of Karlruhe. He also holds four honorary degrees. He still works with the firm.
