WSO2 Summer School Features Free Class on Integrating FIX Applications Within Financial Firms' Heterogeneous Environments

Webinar-based training on June 29, 2011 explores best practices and supporting standards for using the WSO2 ESB to enable interoperability between FIX and non-FIX applications.

PALO ALTO, CA, June 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Financial services firms rely on the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol to drive the real-time electronic exchange of securities transactions. However, the special message format and rigid nature of the FIX protocol mean it often interoperates poorly with non-FIX applications. The combination of the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB) and FIX protocol support provides a powerful solution for seamlessly integrating FIX applications and the heterogeneous systems supporting a financial firm's operations.

IT architects and developers can learn how to optimize FIX application interoperability by attending the interactive online class, "Enterprise Integration with the FIX Protocol." The two-hour session is being offered at no cost as a part of the WSO2 SOA Summer School program (http://wso2.org/training?062111f). It will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific. To participate, register at http://tinyurl.com/FIX-school.

The Enterprise Integration with the FIX Protocol class will:

- Introduce the FIX protocol, including the FIX message format, FIX session protocol, and simple FIX interactions and error handling.

- Examine FIX support in the open source WSO2 ESB (http://wso2.com/products/enterprise-service-bus?061511s), including the FIX transport protocol and XML Information Set (InfoSet) for FIX messages.

- Demonstrate how to mediate FIX messages through WSO2 ESB interactions.

- Review FIX integration best practices using real-world integration scenarios.

Leading the class are Hiranya Jayathilaka, WSO2 senior software engineer (http://wso2.com/about/team/hiranya-jayathilaka?062111f), and Charith Dhanushka Wickramarachchi, WSO2 software engineer (http://wso2.com/about/team/charith-dhanushka-wickramarachchi?062111f). In addition to their track record in product innovation, Hiranya and Dhanushka both bring proven expertise in helping WSO2 enterprise customers to successfully implement their FIX communication services.
