FRISCO, TX, July 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Teresa A. Hinote, Dyslexia Teacher and Trainer of Dyslexia Therapists for the Frisco Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of academic language therapy.

Ms. Hinote is a dyslexia teacher and trainer of dyslexia therapists employed by Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and recently retired from the Frisco Independent School District. An expert in the practice of academic language therapy, she carries with her a passion to teach reading to individuals for whom illiteracy has been predicted — the dyslexic. She also trains educators to teach reading and remediate dyslexia, and supports students who have completed the dyslexia program.

Now celebrating more than 35 years of experience in the field of education, Ms. Hinote notes that she was inspired to become an educator because of her high school chorus teacher, Colleen Ramshur, who possessed a passion for teaching her subject and a genuine care for her students. Ms. Hinote attributes her success to the opportunities presented to her through perseverance and the grace of God. She also credits Karen Avrit, the educational director of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, her mother, Doris T. McLennan, and her daughter, Evelyn D. Hinote, for the encouragement they provided.

Ms. Hinote holds a Master of Education from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University. She also retains specialized certifications as an academic language therapist and qualified instructor of dyslexia therapists. Her professional affiliations include the Academic Language Association and the International Dyslexia Association.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her field, Ms. Hinote was nominated for a Disney Teacher of the Year Award as well as the Teacher of the Year Award in the East Baton Rouge Parish School District. She was recently named a Professional of the Year in Education by Cambridge Who's Who, an organization of which she is an honored VIP member. She was also selected for inclusion in Cambridge Publishing's 2010 Distinguished Educators in America calendar.
