Come to the Eatery and Bring Your Favorite Album to Celebrate National Vinyl Records Day on August 12

    FORT WORTH, TX, August 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Don and Cindy Gifford, co-owners of The Eatery, are taking those old records off the shelf and inviting patrons of their North Beach Street family bistro to pick out some favorite records from Cindy's collection to play or to bring a favorite album or single from home.

Along with grooving to The Stones, The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel, hep cats can dig in to a retro menu featuring items like Chicken Tetrazzini, wedge salads and Lazy Daisy cake.

"I've got the original recipe for Lazy Daisy cakes that my mother got from a Quaker Oats box in the 70s, and Don is going to recreate that after-school treat complete with coconut and pecan frosting," said Gifford.

Put on your bell bottoms and your disco shoes and grab your favorite album and come on over to The Eatery. Cindy and chef Don will be glad to make sure your favorite songs get played during your visit.

"I grew up with great music on vinyl, LPs and 45s. We're decorating each table with art from album covers and Don is cooking up some dishes that will bring back memories as fond as your first kiss," said Eatery co-owner Cindy Gifford.

National Vinyl Record Day is August12 because that is the day the Edison invented the phonograph in 1877. Each day from August 8-12, the restaurant will have a dessert available at its 1960 price of 30 cents.
