When Dr. Godenko moved to the United States from Ukraine 12 years ago, she employed her hard work, determination, and expertise in solid-state physics to establish herself as an educator. Now a professor at Brooklyn College, she is proud to mentor 40 to 50 students on a daily basis regarding course selection and curricula. Additionally, she teaches courses on energy use and climate change as an assistant professor. As she moves forward in her career, Dr. Godenko hopes to attain a position as an associate professor at the college.

Impressively, Dr. Godenko has published more than 200 scholarly articles related to physics and mathematics. She displays a particular interest in environmental physics, which she intends to showcase in a full-length book about environmental resources. She holds a Ph.D. in physics and a Doctor of Science in physics and mathematics, both earned in Kiev, Ukraine. Benevolent by nature, Dr. Godenko lends her support to the American Cancer Society and Disabled American Veterans.
