The Carbon Neutral Sailing Superyacht Twizzle Combines Beauty & State-Of-The-Art Design

Carbon neutral yacht TWIZZLE is available for charter through BURGESS, and sails the Caribbean in the winter and the Mediterranean in the summer with weekly rates starting from US$273,000 excluding operating expenses in the Caribbean this winter.

LONDON, ENGLAND, September 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 57.49m (188.7ft) TWIZZLE, is completely custom and built to an exacting owners' brief for a fast, comfortable, go-anywhere sailing yacht with all of the finest amenities of a motor yacht. The exterior is streamlined and sexy and the interiors are designed for spacious living, with large and luxurious cabins, and several areas for relaxation. Unusual for a sailing yacht, TWIZZLE's entire main deck has been allocated for guests' enjoyment and relaxation.

There is a feeling of openness and space that is simply stunning, with a free flow design that makes the distinction between the interior and exterior almost invisible, creating an imaginatively conceived indoor/outdoor living area. This is achieved with full-width automated glass doors that integrate the airy main saloon to the expansive main cockpit, complete with bar, comfortable couches and shaded dining table. The flybridge is another great al fresco living area with sunbeds, plenty of seating, casual dining amenities and a barbecue. "Getting it to look simple and clean is very difficult,' according to Justin Redman of Redman Whiteley Dixon who is responsible for the exterior and interior styling and layout.

In collaboration with the owners and Redman, the interior decor was conceived by Emily Todhunter who created a beautifully proportioned and minimalist environment, with every eye line and detail carefully considered. The style is modern, understated and refined. Every material is chosen for its quality and texture, creating depth within a natural color palette: cashmere throws, leather door handles, woven linens, hand-painted silks, limed oak blinds, chocolate lacquer and pale polished Italian marble in the bathrooms - comfort without clutter, natural light, a calm and relaxing environment.

In an oasis of cream and white, the owner's suite sets a new standard and rather than the traditional double cabin with his and hers aft, there is a walk-in dressing room and separate bathroom for her off the main bedroom, and in his area a spa shower room and an office with access via a private stairway straight up into the sunken aft cockpit.

The guest cabins are all designed to the same theme: silks, cashmere, white cotton and textured fabrics that bring delicious, subtle warmth to the rooms with just a dash of bright color for a change in tempo. The shower rooms are cozy and inviting in identical champagne marble. Each cabin has a docking station for an iPhone and individual iPods and an Apple iTouch to control the audio-visual system and televisions. In the guest cabins, detail is everything, from the soap dish to hidden hairdryer and custom-made cubbyholes for storage. The superb crew of eleven delivers impeccable service and Oliver McKeown, the Michelin star trained chef prepares world class cuisine.

TWIZZLE is very much about enjoying the water, and provides ample activities for guests who enjoy kayaking, swimming, sailing, fishing, snorkeling and diving. Access to the water is easy thanks to an ingenious split-level stern platform that lowers out of the transom.

Extraordinary for a superyacht, TWIZZLE is carbon neutral. Stringent environmental management procedures make her very eco-friendly and she is certified to the highest levels for cruising in environmentally sensitive waters. She operates a policy of offsetting all carbon emissions from her main engine, generators and tenders, and even the carbon footprint from her construction process was offset.

Beyond her beauty, TWIZZLE is full of technical innovation and pushes the envelope in design. She has one of the most advanced sailing rigs ever created, carrying 1,780m2 of sail, and both the main and mizzen sails can be hoisted simultaneously and silently in under two minutes. She has a 62.5m carbon fiber Panamax main mast, and a 58m mizzen mast, which is the tallest ever built. Guests mobile devices will receive a signal anywhere, as TWIZZLE has her own cellular phone network. While inside, a single iTouch remote allows guests to control lights, air-conditioning, blinds, SatTV and Twizzle channels, and the full range of Kaleidscape music and DVD options.
