BELLEVUE, WA, September 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peaks Frozen Yogurt Bar today announces the grand opening of its first self-serve frozen yogurt location in the Bellevue Crossroads Mall at 15600 N.E. 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98008 with a kick-off to benefit Children's Hospital.

To celebrate Peaks grand opening, they will be giving out free self-serve frozen yogurt on Thursday, September 15th from 11am-9pm. Peaks will be accepting donations in partnership with Children's Hospital and their "Eat Well, Be Active" guild.

"After we decided to open a self-serve frozen yogurt bar, we chose an amazing location in the Bellevue Crossroads community. We absolutely love quality frozen yogurt, lots of fresh fruit and toppings, the self-serve concept and we really appreciate the excitement the entire community is showing us," said CEO Tim Riley, co-owner of Peaks. "We are expecting a large turnout for the grand opening and are thrilled to be partnering with Children's Hospital and supporting their commitment to helping children" he continued.

The Crossroads Mall location is the first of several planned Peaks Frozen Yogurt Bar locations in Washington. Quickly building a large following of the non-fat, real yogurt, pay by the ounce model in many parts of the country and by providing customers with a unique experience upon each visit, the self-serve concept allows customers to make their own frozen yogurt creation, creating blends and concoctions.

Peaks yogurt is naturally fat-free, low in calories and contains probiotic cultures. "It's a healthy alternative to ice cream and cupcakes," resident yogurt expert and Peaks General Manager Thomas Lenz said. "After eating it, you'll feel good and it is good for you. Some frozen yogurts are made with water. Peaks yogurt is made from real nonfat milk + yogurt and is rBST hormone free. Peaks will offer classic flavors such as Ultimate Chocolate, Classic Vanilla, New York Cheesecake, Mountain Blackberry, and Peanut Butter, but there is always a surprise for the more adventurous like the astonishingly delicious Maple Bacon Cake which was inspired by Mr. Lenz. The incomparable "House" Tart, along with a non-dairy gelato and no sugar added flavor option is always a mainstay. At Peaks, various custom concoctions are created by mixing an array of frozen yogurts, fresh fruit and over 40 toppings. Peaks also offers a large gathering space for customers, groups and teams with lots of comfy chairs and tables.
