SALT LAKE CITY, UT, November 7, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Donald Null, Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Primary Children's Medical Center, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Neonatology. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

A recognized expert in neonatology practiced medicine and research, Dr. Null serves as the medical director of the neonatal intensive care unit at Primary Children's Medical Center. Stationed at one of the top children's hospitals in the U.S., he tends to the medical needs of children in the states of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Montana. He also functions as the director of neonatal transport and director of the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) program.

In addition to serving in this capacity, Dr. Null has published more than 100 articles and chapters on pediatric medicine and runs an annual conference on high-frequency ventilation. He also speaks at national and international events. Currently, Dr. Null is involved in a research project studying the ideology and prevention of lung injury in premature and term newborns. In light of his achievements, he was recently selected to be featured in Pro-Files Magazine.

Dr. Null holds an MD from West Virginia University, earned in 1969. He has completed a rotating internship at Wilford Hall Medical Center, a pediatric residency at Columbus Children's Hospital (now Nationwide Children's Hospital), and a neonatal fellowship at Wilford Hall. Dr. Null is a member of the American Pediatric Society, American Academy of Pediatrics and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
