/24-7PressRelease/ - KATHMANDU, NEPAL, February 21, 2007 -- 'Today's Youth Asia' (TYA) magazine, a new quarterly featuring stories about youth in Asia and issues affecting them, was launched today in Kathmandu.

Rtn. Hon Prime Minister G.P Kiorala, who couldn't attend the launching ceremony due to health reasons, offered a message of success for the publisher and expected the magazine to play a crucial role in consolidating democracy in Nepal.

Attendees included Rtn. Hon Former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Ms. Sujata Koirala, law maker of the interim Legislature-Parliament, Mr. S. Neil Vineberg, global advisor of TYA, Mr. Radhesh Pant, President of Bankers Association Nepal, and Mr Yubaraj Ghimire, regional advisor of TYA.

Publisher and editor Santosh Sah spoke about the magazine's objectives in the context of Nepal and whole of Asia. He remarked, "Asia is an eclectic region full of diversity in culture, economy, government and people. But sadly Asia lacks integration. That may be why, unlike Europe or America, the global lens that is used to analyze and judge Asia, is never our own. And we are portrayed as continent alone, oddly referred to as the East. Today's Youth Asia will focus on the missing thematic and intellectual Asian integration through the articles it covers, so that Asian people and youths recognize themselves to be a part of a very integrated picture called Asia."

The Today's Youth team started by organizing youth education and empowerment programs in Nepal in 2002. The following year they launched 'Today's Youth' magazine, serving a wide audience of Nepali high school students. With 'Today's Youth Asia' magazine, the Today's Youth team has expanded its outreach and inclusiveness to the entire Asian region.

The magazine has correspondents in several countries of Asia, the Middle East and United States, with the headquarters office located in Nepal. Hence, it can be said that at this time of several crisis in Nepal, this is one achievement that Nepalese youth have offered to the nation.

'Today's Youth Asia' will be published bi-monthly and compliment existing media in Nepal.
