Lady Gaga's Workshop at Barneys New York, Featuring SweetBliss Chocolate Holiday Sensations with a Twist

SweetBliss offers Lady Gaga products available at Barneys New York: Gaga chocolate skulls, hand-painted chocolate lips filled with the finest Belgian chocolate, a Born This Way Egg, and a hand-crafted Alexander McQueen appliqued pump.

NEW YORK, NY, November 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a season full of glitzy tinsel and colored lights, Gaga's Workshop offers wildly imaginative novelty gifts that easily trump Santa's digs back in the North Pole. Lady Gaga's extravaganza at Barneys New York is a spectacular shopping destination, providing all the gift-giving inspiration you could ask for. The workshop will feature SweetBliss chocolates that perfectly capture the glamorous and avant-garde Gaga style.

Lady Gaga has transformed the fifth floor of Barneys New York into a holiday bizarre bazaar that opened at 11:59 p.m. on November 21. As you would expect to find at any holiday shopping venue, sweet treats are abundant, but these are a far cry from your ho-hum candy canes. SweetBliss presents a variety of Belgian chocolate confections that pay homage to the pop star and are sure to add luster and sweet memories to the 2011 holiday season.

SweetBliss offers Lady Gaga products available exclusively at Barneys New York: sparkling decorative Gaga chocolate skulls, Gaga-bright, hand-painted chocolate lips filled with the finest Belgian chocolate, a "Born This Way" Egg featuring colorful graphics and a Gaga-inspired facial profile, and an over-the-top, two-pound chocolate hand-crafted Alexander McQueen appliqued pump. The high-fashion pumps, styled after those that the Lady wears, will be remembered as iconic of the rock/fashion decade. Two to go please! One for eating and the other for a collectible keepsake.

SweetBliss founder and chocolate guru, Ilene Shane, reveals that she and her team poured two months of concentrated effort into the imaginative design and production of these Gaga-inspired chocolates. Much of Shane's motivation originates from the fact that 25 percent of the proceeds from Gaga's Workshop sales will be donated to Lady Gaga's charity, the "Born This Way Foundation," which is committed to empowering youth, inspiring bravery and embracing humanity in all its diversity.

For artistic inspiration, Shane points to Lady Gaga herself, saying "All things fantastical symbolize Lady Gaga." Hence the skull's edible silver luster, dull by comparison to its decorative embellishments--a shimmering sugar applique, reminiscent of Gaga-esque black-and-white sunglasses and a gold lame hat and bow. Each 6.5-oz. skull is meticulously handcrafted and executed in several stages, requiring enormous dexterity. Shane compares the process of creating these unique chocolates to jewelry making--an apt comparison as each lovingly sculpted piece of artwork sparkles with the promise of holiday joy and magic.
