Ariel Labs Introduces Mineral-Based Mascara in Colors that Resonate Light

Ariel Laboratories, a custom product development laboratory headquartered in South Plainfield, NJ, has introduced a new mascara.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ, December 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ariel Laboratories, a custom product development laboratory headquartered in South Plainfield, NJ, has introduced a new mascara product made with mineral pigments that have been expressly selected for their light resonating properties. The high-performance mascara promises to lengthen and thicken lashes while enhancing eye color brightness.

"This is a unique formula," says Peter Bohm, President and CEO of Ariel Laboratories. " It doesn't smudge or "tear away", and we are manufacturing it in super bright and muted colors. Both have the ability to bring out latent color in the eyes of end users, but the real value for today's consumer is the fact that we have formulated our mascara using mineral pigments that meet the highest standards of current environmental and safety codes. It is PEGS free."

Polyethylene Glycol(PEG) is a commonly used poly ether compound that contains potentially toxic by products such as ethylene oxide and Dioxane, which is becoming a scurtinized emulsifier in the cosmetic industry. In order to be sold in California, a product must comply with that state's Proposition 65 requirement prohibiting the presence of Dioxane derived from ethylene oxide, which may be found in PEGs.

"Not only is our mascara non-toxic, our laboratory personnel have met all of our user-friendly marketing parameters for this product," says Bohm. "It has clean removal properties, doesn't "cry away", and is easily applied with any well-designed brush. Although currently in the marketplace, this product hasn't come close to reaching its full potential. It's a natural for mass distribution on a global scale. It just needs the right marketer to recognize its true potential and give it the proper branding."

"Packaging the mascara in round, slender containers extends product life and minimizes drying," explains Bohm. "When matched with a slender, round brush of sufficient diameter to make full-surface contact with the product content, the mascara's performance is maximized. The same packaging performance is true of tubes with the best results found with similar shapes."

The universal acceptance of mascara is far from a recent occurrence. Its beginnings go back to ancient times, and may have been first used extensively by the Egyptians. Records from around 4000 BC refer to a substance called kohl that was used to darken eyelashes, eyes, and eyebrows. Mascara became popular among stage actors in the form of a paint-like substance during the 1800s. Modern mascara products are made up of many formulas, however, all contain the same basic components of pigments, oils or oil-based emollient systems, waxes, and preservatives.
