SALT LAKE CITY, UT, January 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anthony W. Middleton Jr., MD, FACS, Associate Clinical Professor of The University of Utah School of Medicine, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medicine.
During his 36-year-long career in health care, Dr. Middleton has acquired an expertise in surgical oncology and urology and founded Middleton Urologic with his brother, George. For the past 30 years, he has worked as an Associate Professor of The University of Utah School of Medicine. In this position, he is responsible for attending conferences and overseeing residency programs, as well as teaching urology residents at the clinical level. Previously, Dr. Middleton was the medical director of both UroQuest Medical Corporation and Prime Medical Inc. He also served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force for two years.
Holding a Bachelor of Science from The University of Utah and an MD from Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Middleton completed a residency in urology at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1974. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he was a member of the Governing Council of the Specialty Service Society for the American Medical Association. Furthermore, he is a founding member and first Board Chairman of UROPAC, a national political action committee. Previously, Dr. Middleton served as president of the Salt Lake County Medical Society, and the Utah Medical Association; as the national president of the American Association of Clinical Urologists, Inc.; and was president of the western section of the American Urological Association. He is also a former board member of the Utah Medical Insurance Association and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as well as Phi Beta Kappa.
