KINGSTON, PA, January 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Frederick Myers, retired physician, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in internal medicine. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership. In addition, Dr. Myers has received the designation of Elite American Physician.
Prior to his retirement, Dr. Myers gained more than 20 years of experience as a physician, with a specialty in internal medicine. Currently, he uses his expertise and experience to volunteer as an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Commonwealth Medical College in Pennsylvania.
After a stroke ended his clinical career, Dr. Myers worked for the Social Security Administration for 18 years as a level II disability review specialist, where he reviewed claims for disability and produced reports with his opinion about whether the criteria were met.
Dr. Myers earned an MD from Hahnemann Medical College, now Drexel University College of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science from Wesleyan University. He is a member of Luzerne County Medical Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and America's Top Physicians. He became a fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2006, an accomplishment he considers to be the highlight of his career. He is also proud to have completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at Geisinger in Danville, Pa., and to have published an article.
