BEDFORD, OH, February 14, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Candice R. Holland, Retired Elementary/Middle School Teacher for Vermilion Local Schools, was recently named a VIP member by Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

During high school, Ms. Holland enjoyed working with a mentor as an aid, then teacher, in a central western Ohio Head Start program for three seasons and discovered her passion for working with children. Therefore, she decided to pursue a career in education. She attended The Ohio State University as a Jennings Scholar and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She then lived in Canada for three years before returning to the United States to teach for 35 years until she retired. Ms. Holland spent a majority of her career teaching the second and fourth grades. In her most recent post with Vermilion Local Schools, she taught students in middle school. Ms. Holland exceled in working with young children of all abilities and in assisting them in the classroom. Students always felt comfortable approaching her with their concerns.

In 2003, Ms. Holland earned a Master of Arts in education from Marygrove College and graduated with honors. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa International. Ms. Holland attributes her success to her creativity, humor, and love for her profession. Looking toward the future, she plans to relocate to North Carolina and become involved in some capacity with the North Carolina education system.
