Atlanta Tree Service Company Yellow Ribbon Tree Experts Reminds Residents, Arbor Day Comes Early in Georgia

With our nation's Arbor Day falling on the third Friday in April, Georgia observes this important day in February to coincide with the optimal planting season.

ATLANTA, GA, February 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta tree services company Yellow Ribbon Tree Experts wants everyone to remember that Arbor Day comes much earlier in Georgia than the Nation's Arbor Day. Arbor Day in Georgia is the third Friday in February, the 17th this year, to align with optimal tree planting season in Georgia, which is between November and mid-March. Arbor Day is observed nationally on the third Friday in April.

Arbor Day is a reminder to take a moment and reflect on the important role that trees play in the great state of Georgia and across the nation. Arbor Day should be about the future and what can be done to proliferate tree populations for the health and enjoyment of the people. Though Yellow Ribbon Tree Experts does provide Atlanta tree removal services, removal is only recommended when it is truly necessary, and the business also provides services to improve tree health.

Arbor Day has been observed in Georgia since 1890, but was designated as the third Friday in February in 1941. Planting a tree is the perfect way to commemorate this day each year. Tree planting is a great way to symbolize an event or remember a loved one. Storms alone necessitate a great deal of Atlanta tree removal and Arbor Day is a great time to plant new specimens.

Gary Robertson, owner of Yellow Ribbon Tree Experts, explains, "Sometimes a tree has to be cut down for the sake of the surrounding landscape or structures, but this does not mean that trees should not be treated with respect. Arbor Day is a great opportunity to recognize the important part that trees play in our world."

The state tree of Georgia is the Live Oak, and the largest one in Georgia is also a national co-champion at 77 feet tall with limbs that spread to 140 feet. This record setting tree is in Waycross, Georgia and would make a great Arbor Day trip for the family.
