MCGREGOR, TX, February 20, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly Fehler, Chef Instructor for Texas State Technical College, has been named a VIP member of Cambridge Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
It comes as no surprise that Ms. Fehler was named Pastry Chef of the Year in 2011 by the Texas Chefs Association; she has established her skills in baking artisan breads and desserts for the past 25 years. She also contributes to the culinary industry as an executive chef and business owner with expertise in catering, event planning and staff training. Ms. Fehler brings her experience and skills to her role with Texas State Technical College, where she teaches classes in the subjects of the fundamentals of baking, advanced pastry making, hospitality supervision and management, and bar and beverage management. Furthermore, she is a Certified ServSafe Instructor who teaches ServSafe's food safety training courses.
Ms. Fehler has 10 years of experience in fine dining and seven years of experience in management. In addition to her position with Texas State Technical College, Ms. Fehler operates Hannah's Handcrafted Edibles, Inc., which she has owned since 2005. She previously worked as a pastry chef and line cook for The French Room at the Hotel Adolphus. In 1994, Ms. Fehler received an associate degree in culinary science from the New England Culinary Institute. She is now pursuing a Bachelor of Science in psychology at Walden University and plans to attain a Ph.D. in industrial and organization psychology. Ms. Fehler remains current in her field through affiliation with the Texas Chefs Association, Women Chefs & Restaurateurs, and the American Culinary Federation.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Fehler plans to continue contributing to the field of culinary arts. She aims to teach and train many future culinary professionals, establish new businesses, and consult in the restaurant and entertainment arena. When Ms. Fehler isn't working, she volunteers with the Zion Lutheran Church. She also enjoys reading, gardening, writing, photography, and spending time with her family.
