Dr. Kanevsky has practiced medicine for 27 years and runs the United Agency Alexander Kanevsky. In 1997, Dr. Kanevsky completed a Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland and in 1993, did an Internship in Internal Medicine and Family Practice at UPMC. He earned a previous Internship in Surgery from Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital in 1984. His Postgraduate Doctorate in Surgical Oncology was achieved in 1988 at Krasnoyarsk Regional Oncology Center, and the Moscow Research Radiology Center. Dr. Kanevsky earned an MD at Krasnoyarsk Medical Institute in 1983 and holds a Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine and Medical Herbology, earned in 1989 at Moscow Center of Eastern Medicine. He also holds a Medical Practice License for the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Maryland. In 2006, he was a Gubernatorial Candidate for the state of Connecticut and in 2005, received Shaolin Temple Recognition in Kung Fu.

In 1990, he was recognized for his prodigious artistic talent with the First International Award in Fine Arts. He also won a Consumer-Nominated Award in Psychiatry the same year and the First Award for the Best Surgical Research in 1982.
