Clearwater Lights Assists with Motor Officer Safety

Manufacturer of "Krista" motorcycle LED lights helps local police department.

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA, February 29, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the addition of Clearwater Safety lights, police motor officers in Folsom, CA now ride with increased confidence. The department recently took delivery of Clearwater "Krista" Police LED lights for the BMW R1200RT motorcycles.

Folsom Police Sergeant, Kirk Morris, contacted Clearwater's owner, Glenn Stasky, upon learning of the police lights. "The light demonstration was impressive. Stasky offered to install a set of lights on one of our bikes for evaluation. We rotated the bike throughout the department and it soon became evident that we wanted to equip the entire fleet with these lights," Morris said, "Now that the patrol bikes all have the lights, when we have to use the back up bike without the Kristas, we don't feel as safe."

The value of these lights was evident on the very first day of use. One of the motor officers had been sitting at a red light when a car ran the light directly in front of him. The officer took off after the violator with his standard "RED and BLUE" emergency lights. The motorist continued driving as if the officer had not been there. When the officer turned on the Clearwater "Krista" lights, the motorist immediately pulled over. When the officer approached the car and asked why the driver had not pulled over right away, the motorist stated "I did officer, as soon as I saw you". The power and attention these lights offer is impressive.

An innovative patent pending "dimming" feature allows the officer to adjust the intensity of the lights to suit the need. The "Krista" lights operate in two different modes. In one manner, the lights operate as a "Take Down" light whereby they are used to illuminate a car during a night time stop. In the second manner, the lights are operated in a "Wig-Wag" mode used in conjunction with the emergency lights.

Constructed in the USA from billet aluminum and precision machined parts, these lights promise long life and durability. Proprietary patent pending digital thermal feedback circuits monitor LED temperature and regulate pulsed power to extend life to nearly 50,000 hours. Safe operating temperatures are realized in all conditions. Less sophisticated lights cannot achieve this level of output and life.

Multiple wiring options exist to allow flexibility with brightness control and dimming. A wig-wag control is provided with a three position switch.

Motorcycles do not have enough alternator or battery power to support a conventional halogen take down light while stopped; Krista solves this problem. Cruisers, of course, use these lights as a tactical safety diversion during traffic stops. One or two of these lights are sufficient to overwhelmingly illuminate a motorist during a nighttime traffic stop. Each light draws only 36 watts of power when tuned on high at which time they produce light equal to a 150 watt halogen. Either one or two of these lights may also be used on an off road motorcycle to provide much needed additional illumination.

Krista has been tested by some of the toughest riders in the country in all conditions. In addition, Krista proved itself as an emergency hospital operating room light in tsunami stricken American Samoa.

"Krista" police lights are currently being used in over 100 agencies across the country. Applications for the BMW R1200RT, the Kawasaki 1400, the Honda ST1300 and Harley Davidson motorcycles are currently available. Clearwater Lights manufacturers a variety of LED lights that are used for safety purposes: Street motorcycles, off road motorcycles, race track warning lights and law enforcement.

"Working with the Folsom Police Department has been a great experience. The officers have been extremely helpful and eager to learn about this system. I am confident these lights will contribute to their safety. Knowing that my local police will be safer makes it all worthwhile. I am proud to make these lights right here in Folsom, CA USA", said Stasky. "I believe these lights will help save lives." You can contact Clearwater Lights for more information or a demonstration.
