Worldwide Who's Who Names Peggy Keener Professional of the Year in Authorship
Press Release March 7, 2012
Peggy Keener is a published author, recognized for 25 years of dedication to the field of writing

Minnetonka, MN, March 7, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- writer Peggy Keener has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Authorship. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Originally from Minnesota, Peggy's overseas life began in Japan in 1962. Following that she lived in Okinawa, Australia, Bali, Thailand and then returned to Japan for a total of nearly thirty years. This three-decade-long experience qualified her to write her award winning memoir, "Potato In A Rice Bowl," a true story portraying the absurdities of dealing with the Japanese culture by one whose roots were so defiantly Midwest American.

In this 5-star, knee-slapping, eye-opening stare into the mystic of the Japanese culture, Peggy related not only her deadly serious struggles of raising her three babies in the perplexities (and occasional absurdities) of post-war Tokyo, but how she did it alone without the help of family, friends, no telephone, certainly no computer!, highly suspicious neighbors and a sluggishly slow mail system, plus the added difficulty of an always-absent husband who was routinely away on clandestine government missions.

Peggy, in a quirky turn of events, became a national personality on NHK-TV, still today one of Japan's most prestigious television networks. During the eighteen years she lived in Japan, Peggy traveled throughout the country as a lecturer and teacher, while working on national radio stations, being the voice on recorded books, and continuing her TV career.

Ms. Keener has garnered numerous awards throughout her life, including Readers' Favorite Gold Award for Best Memoir of 2011 for "Potato In A Rice Bowl." The book also received a Finalist Award for Best Non-Fiction Humor, and a Finalist Award for Best Non-Fiction History and Culture. Additionally, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kindle and Nook all proclaim its 5-star reviews.

Decades of living in so many exotic places, plus having traveled the world, have introduced Peggy to a vast and varied assortment of foods. With this experience literally under her belt, she presently works as a professional food taster for General Mills.

There remains an abundance of her bizarre true stories yet to be told, thus Peggy intends to continue writing and publishing books.
