She led the faculty's annual United Way campaign for 11 years, and received an award from the president of the university in recognition of her work for the organization. Ms. Cates continues to work part time for the school in the Alternate Exam rooms for students with various disabilities. Having always had a passion for young people, she assists the students any way she can. Ms. Cates plans to continue her involvement with the university in addition to overseeing the operations of her company. She plans to expand the company, conduct further market research and continue helping others in all facets of her life.
