YPI's Asian Tiger Goes from Strength to Strength

As well as its 40th anniversary, YPI celebrates the opening of its three new offices in Asia at this year's annual Hainan Rendez-Vous.

MONACO, April 06, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In just its first year of existence, YPI Asia has been leading the way in increasing the presence of the Asian yachting industry to a vibrant superyacht market. YPI Asia, the Asian branch of Monaco-based Yachting Partners International (YPI) is the largest Western brokerage house in Asia and is available to offer expert knowledge and advice at China's leading luxury lifestyle show this year.

"The secret to YPI Asia is my Chinese team," explains YPI Asia Managing Director, Olivier
Besson. "They understand better than any foreigner how the market works and what our Chinese clients need and want. The link with YPI means they have access to 40 years yachting experience, know-how and networking - that's indispensable."

YPI Asia is dedicated to servicing the needs of yacht owners, potential buyers and charterers throughout Asia and in particular China, providing both super yachts for sale and charter as well as yacht management services.

"We are the only full service brokerage house with three dedicated offices in China and Hong Kong," says YPI Group CEO, Bertrand Vogele. "We have grown from just one office in Aberdeen Harbour, Hong Kong to three offices with optimal locations in Shenzhen and Nansha as well as growing the team with some great new broker talent."

YPI's initial faith in the continued growth of the Asian yachting industry and its subsequent investment in the market seems to have been an astute piece of business. Whilst other companies were content to ride out the European recession, YPI was looking to grow and improve its services to a growing number of Asia-based clientele.

Forbes Magazine stated that China's presence in the Forbes Billionaires List has increased dramatically in recent years as their economy goes from strength to strength. This year 95 mainland Chinese made it onto the list, a figure at odds with numbers seen just a decade ago where very few, if any, made the list. Collectively China is ranked 3rd in the Forbes Billionaires List, behind only the United States and Russia.

"The names change on the List," says Olivier, "but the wealth remains constant in China today. Marina construction is at an all-time high and Chinese investors and industry are buying into some of Europe's ailing but renowned yacht builders so the next generation of quality superyachts from the likes of Ferretti, for example, can be built here in China."

"The only way to properly serve our Asian clients," says Bertrand, "is to provide the full YPI brokerage, charter, yacht management and new-construction service and with a team that understands China and how Chinese people want to enjoy their yachting. Shows like Hainan give us a wonderful opportunity to meet new clients and network with some old ones too."

The 3rd Hainan Rendez-Vous will take place at the Visun Royal Yacht Club in Sanya (Hainan Province) between the 5th and 8th April. YPI Asia will of course be in attendance and is pleased to announce the presence of both Bertrand Vogele, YPI Group CEO and Olivier Besson, YPI Asia Managing Director. Meetings can be arranged with YPI Asia brokers who will be on hand to discuss any of YPI's luxury yachts for sale to interested parties.
