Heike Blessing-Purdon Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Canine Obedience and Training

    LOUISVILLE, KY, April 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Heike Blessing-Purdon, owner and operator of 4 Cats, 4 Dogs, and a Moe !, was recently named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who. Ms. Blessing-Purdon has trained dogs since 2001, first gaining exposure to this field when she and her husband adopted a skittish dog that needed help. They enrolled him in a class and saw great improvement in his behavior. As a result, Ms. Blessing-Purdon gained a strong interest in dog obedience and behavior, and sought training in the field. She attended Animal Behavior College, graduating as a certified dog trainer, and completed an apprenticeship in this role. Educationally, Ms. Blessing-Purdon is also backed by an associate degree in computer information systems from Jefferson Community & Technical College, by an Abitur degree from Georg-Buechner-Gymnasium in Winnenden, Germany, and by an apprenticeship in the insurance field in Stuttgart, Germany.

As she learned more about the field, Ms. Blessing-Purdon became an advocate for positive reinforcement techniques in dog training. Today, she employs these methods in training dogs at her own facility, 4 Cats, 4 Dogs, and a Moe ! This company, which was formed by Ms. Blessing-Purdon two years ago, holds classes for dog training, obedience and behavior.

In addition to making final business decisions and handling marketing matters, Ms. Blessing-Purdon determines the types of classes that will be offered at the facility. She manages behavioral adjustment work and administers dog training herself, specializing in addressing the behaviors of shy, fearful and aggressive dogs.

Ms. Blessing-Purdon remains involved in the industry through her affiliations with the APDT and American Kennel Club, for which she is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
