Noted as an expert in operations management, Mr. Verschelde has 35 years of experience in his field. He has spent the last 2 years of his career as the chairman of Metallum Holding, a recycler and metal refining company that produces copper, tin and nickel from scrap. As the chairman of the company, he utilizes his expertise in strong leadership to spearhead company development and turnarounds, manage and run international divisions, and oversee acquisitions. In addition, he is tasked with preparing a project to develop the company in Asia while preparing the exit of the main shareholder.

Mr. Verschelde attributes his success to his education and to his core beliefs. He believes that with hard work, nothing is impossible, he believes in value creation, and he believes that every company has the ability to succeed. He became involved in business management through his experiences from his time spent in North America.

Mr. Verschelde's work in a number of high-level positions has also taken him all over the world. He was an industrial partner at CVC Capital Partners, a chairman at CPI, a chairman and chief executive officer at Adisseo, a chief executive officer at Lyonnaise des Eaux, a chief operating officer of the water division at SUEZ, a chief executive officer at Air Liquide America and a chief executive officer at Air Liquide Canada.

Mr. Verschelde began his professional career after he earned an executive MBA from the INSEAD Business School, a master's degree in science from the University of Lille and a degree in engineering from Nancy University. Throughout his career he also sought out memberships in a number of professional associations and organizations including: the Compressed Gas Association (North America), the Hydrogen Association in Montreal where he served as chairman, and the French-American School in San Francisco of which he was also a chairman.

In the near future, Mr. Verschelde expects to continue to lead Metallum Holding after change of ownership, or have another opportunity to take a fledgling or small company global.
