As the daughter of a British diplomat, Ms. Previn has an international background and grew up all over Europe. She worked at the British Foreign Office, served as a Personal Assistant to James Garrett, the CEO of James Garrett and Partners, a commercial film production company in London, and became the Personal Assistant to the late actor, Richard Harris.
She owned a high-end jewelry store in Edgartown, Mass., from 1994 until 2000. She now owns Adolfo Dominguez in Chevy Chase. Ms. Previn has three sons, one daughter, and four grandchildren. She attributes her success to a passion for her work and having great partners in her business. She became involved in her profession after she trained for three years as a fashion designer, milliner and tailor. From there, it seemed like a natural progression to open a store. Her career in fashion took a long sideways journey while she graduated from the Gemological Institute of America, after which she opened her own jewelry store and worked at Tiffany & Co. and Bulgari.
Ms. Previn holds a degree in dress design from the University for the Creative Arts in the U.K, Guildford School of Art.
She is a diamond graduate and a pearl graduate of the Gemological Institute of America, and also an Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP, GIA). She is a member of the Gemological Institute of America's Alumnae Association.
