Ed Randall's Fans for the Cure, Triple-A Baseball and Marquechi Group Team Up to Score a Home Run for Baseball Fans and the Fight Against Prostate Cancer

Swing into Spring campaign officially kicks-off

NEW YORK, NY, May 07, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ed Randall's Fans for the Cure has teamed up with Triple-A Baseball and Marquechi Group to further its mission to increase awareness of prostate cancer treatment, prevention and detection.

Today, the trio kicked off Swing into Spring, a national initiative that is a homerun for consumers: with the click of a mouse, they receive an exclusive bundle of savings for tickets and merchandise while supporting a worthy cause.

Said Ed Randall, prostate cancer survivor and Founder & CEO of Fans for the Cure, "Swing into Spring combines two great passions of mine: fighting prostate cancer and baseball. I know that baseball fans have huge hearts, and I'm hopeful they will take advantage of Swing into Spring to help fund our nationwide awareness and education programs."

In the time it takes to play a typical three-hour baseball game, 72 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. In fact, men are 33 percent more likely to get prostate cancer than women are to get breast cancer. A routine physical and blood test saved Ed Randall's life. There were neither warning signs, nor history of cancer in his family when he was diagnosed. Ed Randall is living proof that early detection saves lives, and his personal experience motivated him to found Fans for the Cure.

"Swing into Spring is an exciting program that gets families across America into their hometown Triple-A ballparks and going to bat for a noteworthy cause. It's a win-win for everyone," shared Ken Schnacke, chairman of the Triple-A marketing committee and president and general manager of the Columbus Clippers Baseball team in Ohio.

Marquechi Group, a multichannel marketing solutions firm, is providing the web-based platform for Swing into Spring's secure online purchase and donation center at www.SwingIntoSpring.US. Every time a bundle is purchased for a Triple-A game now through Memorial Day weekend at that site only, MiLB will donate a portion of the ticket revenue to Fans for the Cure. Ticket buyers can also make a direct donation during the ticket transaction if they choose, and any individual (including non-ticket buyers), can use the site to donate directly to Fans for the Cure. The Swing into Spring program continues now through games held during Memorial Day weekend at www.SwingIntoSpring.US.

"Today's consumers are savvier than ever before, and they take social responsibility seriously. By pairing our national pastime with Fans for the Cure, families across Hometown America can stretch their dollar to get more than seats to a game: they help fight prostate cancer and fund research for a cure. Hats off to Triple-A Baseball for helping fans connect with such an important cause." stated Brian Halaschak, co-founder and CEO of Marquechi Group.
