Mr. Rusnak holds two patents. The first, issued on February 19, 2008, is for domain-specific concatenative audio. It has been used in a system that generates speech from a string of text. This patent was created in collaboration with Joshua Bass and Steve Breitenbach. Mr. Rusnak's second patent was issued on April 15, 2008, in partnership with Ashish Vora and Kara Lynn Sprague. This patent is for a structured data type expansion framework. It has been used in a system that expands a symbolic representation of a data item into a locale-specific textual representation.

In 1998, Mr. Rusnak earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from California Polytechnic State University. He plans to eventually venture out on his own and set up his own consulting practice. When not working, Mr. Rusnak enjoys spending time with his wife, playing with his dog, watching baseball and hockey and exploring new technologies.
