Ms. Soderling has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience over the course of a career that has spanned more than 20 years, throughout which she has worked exclusively in the entertainment industry. Her expertise lies in producing and directing dance on film and story-focused pieces with actors. Ms. Soderling made her start as a dancer, and became an actress, then a television host.

She has worked alongside the incredible talent of artists such as Tom Hanks, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keeton, Jim Carey, and many others. Twelve years ago she became a Mother; the role she considers her greatest achievement. Ten years ago, she started producing with her husband Kurt Soderling. Five years ago, she began the journey of creating the documentary dance series MOVE which features the lives of dancers and choreographers. This has been a labor of love for her, a project that includes over 150 interviews with the most prolific dance artists of our generation. It is an ever expanding library of rich dance history that is currently around 22 terabytes. Melinda and husband Kurt look forward to finishing the feature film version this year.

Ms. Soderling attributes her success to hard work, perseverance and never accepting 'No' as the final answer. She became involved in her profession after gaining initial industry experience as a dancer and actress; both which she has done since the age of four. She completed coursework at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and at Birmingham Southern College, and John F. Kennedy University. Looking ahead, Ms. Soderling hopes to continue to grow in her career, and publish a book with her sisters, who she found at the age of 25 as she was adopted.
