LEBANON, TN, May 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laura A. Zelenak, Patient Care Services Manager for Middle Tennessee Medical Center, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Executive Professional of the Year in medical support services. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Ms. Zelenak has been in her present position for the past two years and brings almost 30 years of experience to the role. She utilizes her expertise in cardiology to facilitate the 24-hour accountability of patient and floor staffing, educate staff to give the highest quality in patient care, supervise a full floor staff, and has an active role serving on teams that improve quality care and service for the hospital population.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Zelenak garnered invaluable experience working as a nurse in the cardiac catheterization lab in the intensive care unit for many years. She attributes her success to being a leader, by being an advocate and voice to help staff who are on the front lines of patient care. She became involved in her profession through her longstanding passion to become a nurse.

Ms. Zelenak received a Master of Arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix in 2002. Prior to that she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Robert Wesleyan College in 1983. Always a believer in fortifying her profession knowledge, she is pursuing a certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing. In addition, she is certified in advanced cardiac life support. Ms. Zelenak believes in education as a key to continued success in the medical field and has been a member of Professional groups throughout her career to obtain the most current data to apply to her practice. In the years ahead, she aspires to advance to a director's level.
