HIGHLAND, MICHIGAN, May 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joseph P. Czarnecki, former vice president of manufacturing of Tenneco Inc, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in manufacturing.
Mr. Czarnecki is a successful manufacturing leader with more than 20 years of experience managing multiple plant operations. He became involved in his profession after taking an interest in the automotive industry during college. He received a bachelor of business administration in management at Northwood University in 1984 and holds an associate in accounting. His areas of expertise include leading multi-site manufacturing facilities, lean manufacturing, automotive, defense electronics, fluid technology, semi-conductor, and service industries. In his previous position at Tenneco Inc., he was responsible for overseeing 14 manufacturing facilities that were located in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. For two decades, he has been leading multibillion-dollar manufacturing organizations to greater cost control, efficiency, and profits.
Hard work, experience and dedication have helped Mr. Czarnecki to gain considerable success. He has the proven ability to drive multiple facilities in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and customer satisfaction. The most gratifying aspect of his career was generating more than $1 billion in cost savings career-wide at Tenneco, Tecumseh, ITT, Ford, Mazda, and General Motors, through lean implementation and metrics management systems.
As vice president of operations for Tecumseh Metal Products, he improved financials from a loss of $1.5 million to $500,000 profit the first year and implemented the metric system to reduce customer PPM from 18,000 to less than 500. In addition, he consolidated four plants into two and increased sales by $30 million and generated over $12 million in cost savings as part of the manufacturing system.
Outside of his professional career, Mr. Czarnecki is a board member of The Ted Lindsay Foundation, which raises funds for research into the causes of and cures for autism. He is married and has two children.
