With four months of experience as the 911 director of the City of Noblesville, Indiana, Ms. Dunn acts as a liaison between emergency personnel and citizens. She is responsible for dispatching two police departments and two fire departments, supervising 16 employees, and responding to emergency calls. She also creates and manages budgets, processes claims and purchase orders, and trains new employees. Ms. Dunn started her career in this field 14 years ago, working as a 911 dispatcher. She was promoted to shift supervisor after four years, then assistant director after 10 years, and now serves as the director of the 911 dispatch center. She attributes her success to her hard work, strong personal drive and work ethic. She became involved in her profession when she started in mental health, sought an alternate career opportunity and found a role as a dispatcher.

Ms. Dunn received a master's degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2002, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Indiana University, Kokomo in 1992. She is a member of the National Emergency Number Association and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International, Inc. In years to come, Ms. Dunn hopes to see her department expand.
