Immigration Attorney Jeff Thomas Has Joined The Lozano Law Firm, PLLC

Attorney Jeff Thomas was hired to join the San Antonio immigration law firm team at The Lozano Law Firm at the end of December 2011.

Attorney Jeff Thomas graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in the top 25% of his class. While in law school, he was accepted to The Minnesota Journal of Law, Science and Technology. He also spent time working with the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights on a number of asylum applications and helped to represent detainees in removal proceedings. Before graduation, Attorney Thomas had the opportunity to be accepted as a clerk for Immigration Judges Kristin Olmanson and William Nickerson at the Bloomington, Minnesota Immigration Court. Upon graduation, Attorney Thomas began practicing immigration law at the International Institute of Minnesota.

Prior to becoming a San Antonio immigration lawyer at The Lozano Law Firm, Attorney Jeff Thomas worked in the legal services department of the Organization of American States, a multilateral organization that represents Western Hemisphere countries in a variety of developmental, human rights, and security issues. Attorney Thomas represented the organization in drafting agreements and contracts between the organization and member countries, and represented the organization before domestic courts and internal tribunals.

It was prepared with attorneys from the Council on Crime and Justice, Volunteer Lawyer's Network, and Minnesota Legal Services Coalition. "Criminal Expungement Basics: A Crash Course for Service Providers" (June 16, 2011) is a webinar presentation geared toward training community service providers on the benefits and drawbacks of gaining an expungement of a criminal record in Minnesota. It was prepared with attorneys from the Council on Crime and Justice, Volunteer Lawyer's Network, and Minnesota Legal Services Coalition.
