MIND will receive a grant to make a difference in improving math performance among students.

SANTA ANA, CA, June 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Friday, June 15, 2012 State Farm will make a check presentation of $45,000 to the MIND Research Institute at their 2012 Learning Without Boundaries Symposium at the Westin Hotel in Long Beach. The grant will help fund Math Initiatives in several California Communities to implement ST Math 's blended-learning programs.

More than 350 administrators, teachers and philanthropists will come together and learn how MIND's math software program is breaking down boundaries in education and blending face to face learning with online instruction for enhanced learning.

"MIND Research appreciates State Farm's support of our Math Initiatives across California, which are already driving improvements in math achievement," said Ted Smith, CEO and Chairman of MIND. "We're pleased that principals and teachers from some of the schools supported by the grant will be on hand to recognize State Farm at our annual symposium."

The grant to the MIND Research Institute will support their regional Math Initiatives, an effort targeting disadvantaged youth in Orange County, Los Angeles, and Silicon Valley. This grant will support the 238 schools and reach close to 100,000 students to help improve the educational outcomes of the most vulnerable populations in these regions. It will reach them at a crucial time in their educational careers to provide them with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the 21st century workplace.

"State Farm actively supports efforts to ensure all children have access to a quality education that will allow them to achieve their greatest potential, preparing them to be active participants in a nation that continues to be a global leader," said Eddie Quillares, State Farm agent.
