    PARIS, FRANCE, June 15, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Soul and gospel legend Bobby Womack is due to perform live in Paris on Sunday July 8th.

The American singer, who has just released his 27th studio album The Bravest Man in the Universe, will bring his distinctive vocals and famed stage presence to the French capital's Le Bataclan venue.

At the age of 68, Womack has collaborated with Damon Albarn and XL Recordings label boss Richard Russell to release his first LP of original material since Resurrection in 1994.

Produced by Albarn and Russell, the record has already been widely praised by critics and won favourable comparisons to 2010's I'm New Here by Gil Scott-Heron.

The album, which was recorded in London and New York, features guest appearances from the likes of Lana Del Rey, Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara and the late Scott-Heron.

Womack, who started his career as a guitarist in Sam Cooke's band, has been performing since the 1950s.

Tickets to see him live in Paris can be purchased online, priced at EUR36.30 (GBP29.30) and EUR39.60. Doors are due to open at 19:30.
