Press Release June 20, 2012
Helen Papadopoulos's social sciences studies greatly helped her in becoming a successful consultant

MELBOURNE, VIC, AUSTRALIA, June 20, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Helen Papadopoulos, Self-Help Consultant for New Age Power, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in counseling.

Ms. Papadopoulos has four years of experience as the self-help consultant of New Age Power, a consultancy company. With her 10 years of experience in counseling, she helps people deal with psychological issues through consultations, tutorials and e-books. In her final year of high school, Ms. Papadopoulos sought assistance in dealing with childhood trauma. Her life was so positively transformed by therapy that she decided to become a healer herself. She began studying behavioral psychology in college. However, after two years of science-based learning, she felt disillusioned by the field, as it did not deal with the emotional and social life of an individual. She then went on to study the social sciences, discovering the relevance of social conditioning and personal experience to an individual's emotional state and behavior. She also explored the important role of the subconscious at this time. After graduating in 1994, Ms. Papadopoulos began seeking a deeper level of healing and tried various alternative therapies. Most of these modalities involved addressing the emotional causes of physical and psychological issues, and she found that they resulted in profound and lasting changes. She then went on to study other areas of interest, such as meditation, Native American wisdom, yoga, Buddhism, Reiki, kinesiology and psychosomatics. These philosophies and modalities made her aware of the spiritual aspects of life, and particularly of the importance of the spirit in the healing process. In 1997, Ms. Papadopoulos completed a writing course, as she planned to pen her therapeutic experiences at some point in the future. In 1999, she became a consultant in complementary therapy. In 2006, she discontinued her business in order to work in child care and education as an integration aide/teacher's assistant. She was inspired by her educational training to create self-help materials. Her knowledge is based on mainstream and alternative modalities, as well as her own healing experiences. Ms. Papadopoulos re-established her practice in 2008. Her aim is to educate her clients about healing and promote self-empowerment via self-healing. In 2010 and 2011, she wrote a column entitled 'Heal Thyself' for the holistic newspaper InnerSelf. She has developed therapeutic techniques that are fluid and open to interpretation by clients so that they can develop their own ways of working through their psychological issues, using her theories and methods as a guide only. She recommends simple and practical self-help strategies and tells clients, "All healing is self-healing" and "The power is not in you—it is you."

Ms. Papadopoulos received a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia and holds a diploma in professional writing. She is a member of The International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT). She attributes her success to her passion for her work. In addition, she possesses strong communication, listening, and counseling skills, the ability to explain things simply and succinctly and the ability to inspire others to believe in themselves. In the future, she wants to establish a publishing division within her company.
