MARSHALL, VA, June 26, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Arlene M. Thorpe, Music Teacher for Fauquier County Public Schools, has been named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Thorpe always knew that she wanted to be a piano teacher; as she grew older, her aspiration expanded to include the entire field of music education. Today, she is a music teacher with 17 years of professional experience and expertise in music performance. She brings her experience and skills to her role with Fauquier County Schools. Ms. Thorpe teaches general music for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. She also leads a successful fifth grade chorus, which performs in the Warrenton parade, in Gum Drop Square, and will be singing the national anthem at an upcoming Potomac Nationals baseball game. Furthermore, Ms. Thorpe teaches private piano lessons after school hours.

A graduate of Shenandoah University, Ms. Thorpe holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education. In 2011, she was recognized as an "Unsung Hero" in a local newspaper for her efforts in music education. Ms. Thorpe considers her success to be a direct result of her hard work. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue teaching and doing what she loves.
