American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Accredited dentists Dr. Vittitow and Dr. Hahn have restored several smiles of survivors of domestic violence, at no charge, through the AACD's Charitable Foundation, which has now donated over 4 Million dollars worth of services to over 500 survivors.

/24-7PressRelease/ - MADISON, WI, May 31, 2007 - Local American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) accredited cosmetic dentists, Charlie W. Vittitow and Christian W. Hahn, volunteer for the AACD's Give Back A Smile (GBAS) program to heal the effects of domestic violence by providing free consultation and dental treatment to restore the smiles of survivors of domestic violence.

"Through the Give Back A Smile program, AACD members assist survivors by treating their dental injuries that were sustained from domestic violence, so that they may reclaim their smiles, their self-esteem and, ultimately, with God's help, their lives," commented Charlie W. Vittitow, DMD, AAACD of Louisville, KY.

Helping the Community by Helping Individuals
"Because more than five million people are affected by domestic violence every year in the United States and Canada, there is clearly a need for a program like Give Back A Smile to help survivors rejuvenate their lives through the caring hands of a local dentist," Christian W. Hahn, DDS, AAACD, Trustee for the Charitable Foundation of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, indicated.

Restoring the Smiles and consequentially the Lives of survivors of domestic violence is only possible through the generous help of doctors such as Dr. Vittitow and Dr. Hahn. Dr. Hahn has been serving on the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry's Charitable Foundation for over 2 years now and wants to bring awareness to this great program so that more survivors can once again have something to smile about.

As of 2007 The GBAS program has donated over 4 million dollars worth of services and restored the smiles of over 500 survivors!

In July 2001, the AACD was one of only eight organizations in the world to receive the Award of Excellence and the prestigious Associations Advance America Summit Award for its GBAS program. The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), of Washington, D.C, sponsors this yearly national competition to recognize the charitable organizations that make the most effort to advance American society.
