Press Release July 9, 2012
Painter Ellie Fuerst has always known that she is an artist

EIGHT MILE, AL, July 9, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eleanor 'Ellie' Fuerst, Artist and Retired Teacher, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in fine art. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Ms. Fuerst has 40 years of experience as a fine artist and teacher. In addition, she possesses expertise in making social and political statements. She became involved in her profession because she has been an artist her whole life. As a child in grade school, she was always singled out to do the artistic projects. She was first trained as an illustrator and spent many years as an educator. She has taught art out of her studio and held night classes at local schools. She also taught art at Blessed Sacrament School, Menands School in Albany, N.Y. and Scotia-Glenville High School in Scotia, N.Y.

Specializing in acrylic and watercolor painting, Ms. Fuerst has exhibited nationally, as well as internationally, in Paris and Geneva. She stands out because she is very self determined. She does very well with self-expression and events as she recreates her life experiences in her artwork. She earned an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in upstate N.Y. in 1972 and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the College of St. Rose in Albany, N.Y. Among her more memorable experiences was her work on sculptural projects with her mentor Henry DiSpirito, Artist in Residence at Syracuse University, her time as a transfer student while completing her degree at the College of St. Rose, and her internship at the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

In her life, she has served as a lay-counselor, and was a member of a New York State Police community group at the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969. She is a former member of the New York State Teachers Association and served as Lt. Commander of the Kadeross Unit, Civil Air Patrol in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She is currently a Senior Member of the National Civil Air Patrol. Ms. Fuerst was President of the Adirondack Arts and Crafts Guild, managing Guild business such as an annual show and classes at the Guild, where she also taught painting classes. Ms. Fuerst is a past Parliamentarian, (noting that one must reattain a license annually), and also past certified Elections Officer of her town of Providence, N.Y. in 1994-95. Her greatest achievement was exhibiting her work at the corporate shows in Paris and Geneva in the 1980s.

From a social and political perspective, Ms. Fuerst hopes that "people will finally realize they are human" and learn to get along with one another without regard to our differences. "We have forgotten how to treat each other with respect and consideration," she says. Ms. Fuerst plans to create a body of work that is representative of her life's work. She enjoys painting in the Adirondacks as well as hiking and camping. Ms. Fuerst would like to be remembered as a kind person, one who is interested in people and always into her art. A talented and strong-willed individual, life is still unfolding for her.
