Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, July 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pastor Carla J. Ives, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Heart Cry International, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence while providing Christian non-profit services to children around the world.

Heart Cry International transforms nations through discipleship and humanitarian projects that provide education, medical care, shelter and crisis care for children affected by poverty and abuse. They are dedicated to equipping parents, teachers and pastors to care for these children. Drawing on almost two decades of experience, Pastor Ives is directly involved in this effort; she assists in training and mobilizing mission teams to care for the children both physically and spiritually. She also promotes child sponsorship, traveling every other month to other countries while directing the ministry and recruiting volunteers to join her cause. Pastor Ives works in the administrative arena as well, fundraising, writing grants, speaking at engagements, and developing educational curriculums.

Prior to her current endeavors, Pastor Ives, who served as a children's pastor for over eight years at a church pioneered by her husband Ron and herself in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1985. In 1991, she took her first short-term mission trip to Guatemala, where she served at a leadership conference in the mountains. Over the years, her heart became increasingly burdened by the lack of Christian discipleship and ministry available to children. She noticed that most churches provided little or no ministry for them and lacked in educational plans. Since establishing Heart Cry International, services have reached overseas to countries such as Uganda, Haiti, Nigeria, Guatemala, Pakistan and Myanmar. In the future, Pastor Ives, who attributes her success to God and her persistence, intends to open up more international locations and write two books.

Pastor Ives received a diploma from Bullet Creek High School in 1979. She is a member of the Mt. Pleasant Chapter of the Rotary Club International and Potter's House Family Worship Center. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and grandchildren as well as reading, fishing and boating.
