FRANKLIN PARK, NJ, July 24, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rita T. Ademu-John, Payroll Director for Pfizer Inc, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in payroll management. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.
Ms. Ademu-John entered the payroll profession as an executive assistance. After gaining experience and promoted to diffferent positions within Payroll, Ms. Ademu-John was eventually promoted to a management position. She brings more than three decades of experience in payroll management to her current position as the payroll director of Pfizer Inc, a pharmaceutical company. With her strong leadership and managerial skills, she is responsible for overseeing payroll operations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, currently managing 11 colleagues. She directs and manages the processes and activities of her function and team to ensure efficient performance in addition to managing relationships with internal and external customers and vendors. Along with her work at Pfizer Inc, Ms. Ademu-John and her husband, Shikaorsor, owned and managed an African restaurant, Awujoh Restaurant, in Somerset County. They recently wrote and published a cookbook on West African cuisine, titled "My Wife's Hands." The book is intended to educate people about African cuisine, highlighting ingredients and preparation methods to promote a diet that contributes toward a good, healthy lifestyle. Ms. Ademu-John also hosts events and has had several tastings featuring some dishes from the cookbook. Having achieved success as a payroll director and cook, she credits her upbringing and her parents' valuable teachings. Looking ahead, she plans to engage in the global world by expanding her payroll experience on a global level and helping children in Africa.
Ms. Ademu-John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from Pace University and an MBA in management from Long Island University. Keeping current in her industry, she is a member of the American Payroll Association and a recipient of the 1997 Black Achievers in Industry Award from the Harlem YMCA, representing Pfizer. Aside from her career, she enjoys African and Italian cooking, and loves to dance and listen to African and Caribbean music.
