KELOWNA, BC, CANADA July 30, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roslyn Frantz, Music Director, Teacher and Accompanist, has been recognized as a VIP member by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in performing arts.
Known for her excellence in the arts, Miss Frantz has 65 years of experience as an entrepreneur, performer and teacher. Over her six decades of practiced experience she has developed specialties in classical piano performance, classical piano concerto, opera coaching and musical theater. Her company, Viva Musica, focused on entertainment and it provided theatrical performances for 20 years in the Okanagan. Currently, she music directs for Kelowna Actors Studio's extensive dinner theatre season in Kelowna, B.C.
As a private teacher and performer she continues to be involved in the musical fabric of Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada.
Miss Frantz's professional forays into music began in Portland, Oregon where she received training as a classical pianist and voice coach. Teachers and coaches have included Rubstein, Petri, Liberman and Sandor; Lehman, Adler, Millar, Bernstein and Wicks, among others. Opera affiliations have been with Music Academy of the West, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Western Michigan Opera among others. She has also been a professional keyboard player in professional symphony orchestras, an accompanist for classical musicians and singers internationally, and a director and coach for opera and music conservatories. Her specialties are voice and strings. She attributes her professional success to her unsurpassed musical training and the discipline she learned when she was a child. She became involved in her profession because she showcased her talent at a young age.
Ms. Frantz received a Master of Music from The University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts from Mills College in Oakland, Calif. She holds certificates from Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, Calif, Franz Schubert Institut in Baden bei Wien, Austria, and most recently, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Okanagan Arts in 2011.
Looking ahead, Ms. Frantz hopes to continue playing the piano at a professional level, directing and accompanying soloists and shows, and mentoring musicians of all ages.
