Barbara Tucker Humphrey Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Fashion Design

    PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS, August 6, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara Tucker Humphrey, Owner of Custom Fashions by Barbara, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in fashion design.

With 14 years of extensive experience in fashion design, Ms. Humphrey finds success at Custom Fashions by Barbara, where she provides custom dressmaking and alteration services. As the owner, she develops custom designs for bridal and formal wear and is responsible for bookkeeping and marketing. Her services focus on women, but she also does some sewing for men. She works with good quality fabrics and strives to sew without using a commercial pattern. In fact, she creates patterns herself using Dress Shop, My Pattern Designer and free-hand drafting. Having achieved years of success, Ms. Humphrey credits her dedication and love for her profession. She particularly highlights making her first bridal gown from a picture that a bride saw on the runway. She simply loves it when people are happy with what they are wearing and wants to learn as much as she can about fashion to satisfy her customers. Ms. Humphrey earned a bachelor's degree in social psychology from Park University in 2002 and a certification in dressmaking and design from Penn Foster in 2010. Maintaining her professionalism, she is a member of the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers and the American Sewing Guild. For her exceptional services, she received the Best Bridal Award in Austin in both 2006 and 2009. Furthermore, she acquired the Wedding Magazine Award in 2008.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading and researching current fashions on the computer. She volunteers at many fundraising campaigns, marathons and battered women programs. Additionally, she worked as a volunteer judge at the 4H Club Sewing Program and participated in fashion shows for Pflugerville High School's prom and Austin Fashion Week.
