NEUTRAL BAY, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, August 22, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jane Gillespie, Counsellor, Civil Marriage Celebrant, Public Speaker & Writer for Your Life Celebrated and Life Celebrations, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in counselling and civil celebrant services.
Jane Gillespie has lived through many events that caused her much suffering: the grief of apparent infertility; the challenges of adoption; the birth of her own disabled child seven years later; the pain of divorce; breast cancer and an emotional breakdown. After surviving cancer and her breakdown, she embarked on a search to discover herself and find out what she wanted out of life. When she gained invaluable help by joining a cancer support group, she realized she wanted to counsel people through grief and loss, and show them how to find what is worth celebrating in their lives. Ms. Gillespie graduated from the College of Holistic Counselling in 1997 and later acquired a certificate in clinical hypnotherapy from the NSW School of Hypnotic Sciences. She began co-facilitating cancer support groups and retreats in 1998 with the Life Force Cancer Foundation and established her private counselling practice in 2001.
To balance the challenges of her counselling career, Ms. Gillespie undertook professional training and was appointed by the Australian Attorney-General as a civil marriage celebrant in 2004. She has been creating and performing ceremonies to solemnize marriage and other life events worth celebrating ever since. Her work at Life Celebrations involves writing and presenting unique personal ceremonies for weddings, commitments, naming and vow renewals. Additionally, she oversees the daily operations of this business and Your Life Celebrated and takes care of all necessary administrative aspects. She retired from facilitating cancer support groups in early 2012 to focus on both her celebrant business and her private counselling practice.
Having created numerous wonderful ceremonies for her clients, she attributes her success to the quality of her training and professional attitude towards her clients. By genuinely engaging with them, her clients know they can trust her to deliver their perfect ceremonies. In the near future, she aspires to be the celebrant of choice for small, intimate ceremonies throughout the region.
Aside from her thriving career in counselling and civil celebrancy, Ms. Gillespie has focused on realizing her other goals in life. In 2007, she rediscovered her passion for writing and published her first book, "Journey to Me." This book explores her life during and after cancer. In 2008, a romantic story she wrote was published and she is currently working on her first full-length novel.
Inspired by her personal life experiences, she became a public speaker and has addressed many audiences, using her conversational style to engage with them. Believing it is never too late to change one's direction in life, she has gone on to build a satisfying and fulfilling life for herself, which she aspires to demonstrate to people through her counselling, writing, speaking and celebrant services.
Ms. Gillespie undergoes annual professional development in both counselling and celebrancy to maintain currency. She is a member of Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc. (AMC), the Celebrants & Celebrations Network Australia (CCNA) and the Management Committee of the Life Force Cancer Foundation.
In 2007, she was nominated for the Pride of Australia Award for Community Service and she is listed in Who's Who of Australian Women and Who's Who in New South Wales 2008 through 2012 editions.
Away from work, Ms. Gillespie enjoys reading, attending the theater and writing. For more information about her and her work, visit http://www.yourlifecelebrated.com.au and http://www.life-celebrations.com.au.
