The Future...It's In Our Hands...
/24-7PressRelease/ - PLYMOUTH, UK, June 23, 2007 - Announcing http://www.climate-information.com a climate change web site designed to cross the growing divide between those that are green and the majority. For too long the subject of climate change has been presented and marketed in a manner that has left everyday people out in the cold, even the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) report that although 90 per cent of us acknowledge climate change, only a mere 8 per cent of us are prepared to do anything about it!
Climate-information.com aims to redress the balance and help ensure that more of us as consumers change our wasteful way's. climate-information.com do not believe that it is feasible to ban the car, the supermarket, or expect people to knit their own pasta ! we do, however, believe that by giving people a better understanding of what climate change is in a format that is easy to read, easy to understand and is supported by well researched facts and global figures that we may just help to ensure that we secure a brighter future for all of us.
Learn how everyday actions effect the rest of the world, find out about our weather, discover what toxins are and the threat they pose to our health and well being, discover why freshwater is more valuable than gold, learn about the world's rainforest's and why we must strive to protect them and determine how we can regain control of our trolleys and improve our health.
Christine Farrell, founder of climate-information.com, began to research the subject of climate change three years ago after being bored to death by her husband who was happy to tell her how the world was going to end on an almost daily basis. Sceptical at first, she soon discovered that much of what he was saying was true. "We cannot instill a new social conscience if we continue to market climate change in it's current fashion, it is time for the environmentalist to grow up and recognise the overwhelming need to appeal to the majority.
For climate change is not just a subject of concern for the minority, the middle classes and the hippy, climate change requires concerted effort on the part of the whole.
It is imperative that we find ways of working together to create a heightened sense of responsibility and care, where marketing companies and corporations work to produce goods and services within economic and environmental guidelines. To achieve this, we must ensure that we communicate effectively with the consumer."
