Mr. Masterson also serves as Chairman of the Board and President of Warsave Development, Inc., as well as President of Provident Risk Management. He also serves as the Managing Partner of Stephen Masterson & Co., a California based CPA firm that provides accounting and advisory services. Mr. Masterson brings to the Bank over two decades of accounting and finance expertise in the banking and financial services industry.

Mr. Masterson has had an extremely successful career of both building and running organizations. Prior to joining Provident, Mr. Masterson served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of a $10B public financial institution in Santa Barbara, California; as well as the Director of Finance of a $1.6B public financial institution in Westlake Village, California. Earlier in his career, Mr. Masterson developed his skills as an Assurance Professional at Arthur Andersen in Los Angeles, California from 1992 through 2002; and then went on to be a very successful Assurance Partner at Grant Thornton, where he designed and built a $30 million Advisory Services Practice spanning the West Coast of the United States, as well as the Pacific Rim. He is extremely adept in all aspects of business including executive management, operations, complex finance and treasury, accounting, investor relations, capital and risk management., He is known as a change agent, strategist and relationship builder within his fields of expertise.

Mr. Masterson has served on the Boards of a variety of Community and Non-profit Foundations including the Santa Barbara Zoo, the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, the American Red Cross of Santa Barbara, the Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance of Southern California, and All Saints by the Sea.

Mr. Masterson is a frequent speaker on current banking related issues for the American Bankers Association, BusinessWeek, the Federal Reserve Bank, the Financial Executives Institute, the Mortgage Bankers Association, the NASDAQ, and various Universities across the United States.

Mr. Masterson resides in Santa Barbara, California, and Mahwah, New Jersey, where he lives with his wife Tanya and his daughter Sydney. Mr. Masterson received his undergraduate degree in Business and Commerce Administration, with a major in Accounting, from The University of Alabama. He is a Certified Public Accountant, as well as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
