Paul J. Herring Jr. brings 30 years of experience in the apparel and technology industry to his position as a Global Director at Nike, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon. He has worked as an Industrial Engineer, Plant Manager, Director of Manufacturing & QA, Director of Product Development and Director of Product Creation at Gold's Gym Apparel and VF Corporation.

Since joining Nike in 1997, he has held Director level positions in Product Development, Process Innovation, Technology Development, and Strategic Planning.

In his current role, Mr. Herring directs the Strategy, Collaboration, Culture, and Operations functions for the Nike Inc. Technology organization. This includes the creation and performance management of global strategy and business plans, internal portfolio & governance, financial teams, the corporate collaboration COE, communications team and facilities development.

Attending the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Herring received advanced certifications in apparel product design, sourcing and manufacturing management. Additional certifications include Organizational Transformation, Advanced Process Engineering, and Lean Process Design. He is a recognized expert facilitator and is a certified expert in conflict resolution. Early professional success was due to creativity and his work ethic while later being attributed to his ability to create a vision and inspire a team to complete the vision. In the future he hopes to continue to grow in his profession and help Nike meet its growth objectives.

When he is not working, Mr. Herring volunteers his time with Loaves and Fishes, World Vision, and the Portland Rescue Mission. Married for 26 years, with two adult children, he is also passionate about family, fishing, weight lifting, and pursuing his musical interest in opera and playing the trumpet.
