After working with the New York City Police Department, Mr. Reyes worked for the U.S. Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Investigations (OI) as a Senior Special Agent. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Counterintelligence Agent & Combat Medic in the Republic of Panama. He was later deployed to Afghanistan immediately after the events of 9/11. Additionally, Mr. Reyes is the former Director of the Paralegal and Criminal Justice Programs at Everst University, Corinthian Colleges Inc. (NASDAQ: COCO) and the former Regional Director for the Criminal Justice Program at Florida Technical College, EduK Group, Inc.

Mr. Reyes has been married to his wife, Margie E. Viera-Reyes, for nine years and is father to Gabriel Alejandro, age 6, and Jorge Miguel, age 7. He is pursuing a Ph.D in Psychology; Criminology & Justice Studies at the University of the Rockies, a regionally accredited university. Mr. Reyes earned a Master's of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management in 2001 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice in 1995, both from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus.

He is certified as an instructor in Defensive Tactics, Arrest Technique and Intermediate Weapons by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC); U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is also certified in Dignitary and Executive Protection Officer. He is licensed as a Private Investigator, Investigations Manager, Security Manager, Security Officer Training Instructor and Security Officer by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He is a Commissioned Notary Public by the State of Florida. Mr. Reyes is also a licensed Detective in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. In addition, Mr. Reyes is certified by the U.S Maritime Administration as a Vessel Security Officer (VSO), Company Security Officer (CSO) and Port Facility Security Officer (FSO). He is also holds Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMC) and TWIC issued by the US DHS/TSA. Mr Reyes is affiliated with many organizations. He is the former vice president of both the Texas and Puerto Rico chapters of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Association (FLEOA). He is a member of the American Criminal Justice Association, Delta Mu Sigma Chapter and a corporate sponsor of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando. He serves as an adviser at the Canadian Tactical Training Academy (CTTA). Mr. Reyes is the recipient of many honors and awards as well, such as the Army Commendation Medal for service rendered in the Republic of Panama, Meritorious Achievement from the eastern district of New York's attorney's office and the Medal of Achievement from the office of the inspector general of Los Angeles, California.
