Worldwide Who's Who Names Dr. Lisa Trepanier Professional of the Year in Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology

Dr. Lisa Trepanier Treats a Wide Range of Psychiatric, Medical and Neurodegenerative Disorders



    AJAX, ON, September 20, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lisa Trepanier, a self-employed Neuropsychologist and Professor for York University and the University of Toronto-Department of Psychiatry, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

With 25 years of experience in the field in various hospitals and medical/rehabilitation facilities, Dr. Trepanier has gained considerable expertise in neuropsychological profile analysis. Working with adults and the geriatric population, she assesses and treats a wide range of psychiatric disorders, movement disorders, medical conditions and other neurodegenerative conditions. She also helps individuals explore and improve their emotional connections with others. This entails assessing emotional and behavioral difficulties that may or may not be organically related. Additionally, she assesses and treats individuals with substance abuse, victims of trauma and patients with HIV/AIDS.

Throughout her career, Dr. Trepanier has helped to handle complex cases for various organizations and insurance companies, including medico-legal incidents involving motor vehicle accidents and multifactorial disability claims. She has collaborated with regional police departments in different capacities, from employment suitability to clinical assessments as well as treatment. She has also provided educational lectures on various mental health-related issues to commissioned officers, dispatchers and administrative staff within a regional police organization.

When serving as a University Professor, she teaches an advanced fourth-year Neuropsychology of Abnormal Behavior course and provides clinical training and mentorship for graduate students.

Ms. Trepanier was awarded and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropscyhology at the University of Toronto - Medicine-Department of Psychiatry. She received her Ph.D. in both Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology from York University; a Master's degree in Experimental Neuropsychology from the University of Toronto; a Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Windsor. She is a certified professional disability assessor through the ABFE. She is an active member of the Ontario Psychological Association, CAPDA, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators, and the International Neuropsychological Society. In 2000, she was acknowledged with the Best Ph.D. Research Dissertation in Psychology at York University. In 2001, she was recognized with the Best Ph.D. Student Research Poster through the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
