Companies Tell Executives to Hit the Road - and DFW Elite Auto Rental.com Is There to Help Them Do It!

New Elite Team Building Program Accelerates a Popular Corporate Concept

/24-7PressRelease/ - DALLAS, TX, July 26, 2007 - Working on the notion that the team that drives together thrives together, DFW Elite Auto Rental.com has rolled out its newest program - the 2,000 Horsepower Elite Team Building Tour. Based on the company's successful Drive Your Dream Tours, the customized daylong event utilizes the popular corporate team building theme, bringing employees together so team members can bond while driving some of the world's most exotic cars.

"Everyone's done the ropes and golf thing," says Ron Sturgeon, owner of DFW Elite Auto Rental.com. "They're looking for something new. Our program combines exotic cars and challenging exercises to teach executives new ways of developing trust, handling conflict and building commitment to achieving results. And best of all - participants get to do the learning using activities that require driving some of the world's most sought after sports cars!"

To customize the new program, Sturgeon has brought in Corporate Team Builder Rich Shoen, a University of Massachusetts Ph.D, who teaches at Texas Christian University. Dr. Shoen held high-level managerial and executive positions at Fortune 500 corporations before entering the consulting world as an executive coach and leadership development expert. His consulting clients include Bank of America, PRG-Schultz and Corrosion Technologies.

Shoen designs exercises that help team members improve whatever specific obstacles are preventing the team from achieving top performance. "Every team is unique and the venue allows us to train on the specific issues affecting team performance as part of an unforgettable and emotionally positive experience," says Shoen. "Working together, they must complete a given driving course, collect and analyze information, overcome obstacles and learn to trust each other's judgment," he says. "These are the key components of corporate team building."

Although some large companies began experimenting with team building activities in the 1950s and '60s, they have become increasingly popular in the past few decades. Ropes courses, wilderness adventures, murder mystery games and even scavenger hunts all have been adapted to create corporate teambuilding challenges. Shoen, who has personally used the teambuilding concept successfully at many corporations, confirms that luxury car driving is a perfect venue for creating a memorable learning experience for the right group of executives.

"Bottom line is, teams produce more and better products and services than any individual can," he explains. "Team building is a significant process in the working world because people learn better and faster in settings where they are actively engaged. Without a doubt, a Drive Your Dream Team Building event is as actively engaging and as pleasurable an event for team building as I can imagine. For a group of executives with an interest in cars, the learning possibilities of this unique event will be easy to see and understand."

"People who spend a day in the cars come away with tremendous feelings of having done something new and unique. Driving high-performance exotic automobiles automatically gives people an emotional high," Shoen says. "That is important in making the corporate team building exercise stand out as a memorable event in their lives."
