Fairer Sex and Fair Insurance Premiums - Time Ticking for Women to Buy Before Women Handed Extra Costs

GBP50 M&S Vouchers for women who want life insurance at rates they deserve.

HOVE, ENGLAND, November 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Legal & General unveiled the rather startling news that the new EU rules mean that from 21st December 2012, women are likely to pay more when taking out new life cover and critical illness insurance.

It materialised after a set of new rules and changes in law dictate that insurance providers will no longer be allowed to assess insurance premiums via gender. Having been the fairer sex when it came to insurance premiums, women now find themselves under a more critical gaze and no longer the safer investment and receivers of sounder, lower life insurance premiums.

This is how it currently stands: a non-smoking female aged 39 will pay their monthly premium for term life insurance over 21 years of GBP8.22. However, after December 21st this will advance to GBP9.45. This equates to women paying an additional GBP310 for their premium, full term.

Because of these new changes, Legal & General is helpfully guiding women in the right direction and preparing them to act now for a better value life insurance quote before these changes add extra costs. These new laws are aimed to be active by Christmas, so getting the best life insurance now could be a saving later on.

In support of scanning the best insurance rates now, not later, Legal & General has acted to offer women GBP50 M&S vouchers if they apply for their low-cost life insurance before 16th November 2012. It is suggested that women act quickly - there is just over a week left to go on this great offer.

The offer is well-timed and helpful. An extra bonus in addition to savings made for a future. Women deserve the better deal so being rewarded for the right insurance premium seems fair, even if these new rules perhaps aren't.
