Recent Study Finds Chelation Therapy Effective Option for Heart Therapy

Recent studies suggest that Chelation Therapy may provide positive benefit in the prevention of heart disease. It confirms that Chelation Therapy may bring positive results to a variety of health conditions.

PHOENIX, AZ, November 14, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a report recently published by the American Heart Association, doctors found up to an 18 percent reduction in the risk of heart attack, stroke and death when chelation therapy was used. The 7-year study, which was sanctioned by the National Institutes of Health and undertaken at the University of Miami, shows that Chelation provides statistically significant results for heart patients.

"The results of this study are not a big surprise to me. Thousands of patients, including hundreds of my own patients receiving chelation therapy in Phoenix, have benefited from chelation and are resolving their heart issues - while avoiding invasive techniques such as bypass surgery," says Dr. Bruce Shelton, MD MD(H), a licensed homeopathic physician in Arizona. "Finally there is a valid study verifying its effectiveness."

Chelation therapy has been used for decades to remove toxins and heavy metals from the body. It is currently approved for use by the FDA for lead poisoning. However, many "traditional" doctors dismissed the therapy due to a lack of data on its results.

"Chelation became controversial in the 1950s when some doctors used it in excess in an overzealous fashion and put several patients into Renal Failure and was blacklisted by the AMA as an unsafe procedure," says Dr. Shelton, who is trained as both an allopathic (traditional) physician as well as a homeopathic doctor. "Then, in 2003 the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine published a study showing that properly done chelation actually can protect kidneys from damage."

A variety of different chelation therapies are available, but the one preferred by Dr. Bruce Shelton is Calcium Disodium EDTA. Dr. Shelton says this method can be delivered quickly and painlessly, and that by combining this treatment with laser therapy, more metals are excreted with each IV treatment.

Dr. Shelton uses chelation to treat a variety of different medical conditions at his Phoenix, Ariz.-based integrative medicine practice, Valley Integrative Physicians (VIP). VIP focuses on using safe, alternative treatments to modern medicine and on treating the root health problem, not just the symptoms. Dr Shelton is the President of AHIMA, which has many other Arizona-based homeopaths that do chelation in its membership. Dr. Shelton is happy to refer patients outside the Phoenix area to his qualified peers.

"I've learned through personal experience that alternative treatments are often just as effective, if not more so, than traditional medicine and can be safer for the body," says Dr. Shelton. "Of course, before undergoing any medical procedure it is important to always consult with your doctor."
